Advancing Churches was birthed out of Jesus’ words …on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. The word picture Jesus painted is one of a church constantly advancing against the gates of hell.
Since the 1st Century AD there has always been those whose call and purpose in the Church is to call it back to its founding purpose, to come alongside and equip, empower, and encourage believers to pick the keys back up, to go into all the world and make disciples, to be Jesus’ witnesses, to love God with everything and our neighbors as ourselves, to minister to the poor, needy and disenfranchised.
